Somatic therapy

Coherent movement · Cranio-sacral fasciatherapy · Systemic constellation

When you have already understood so much… but something keeps repeating itself.

You may have already tried everything…

You have already worked on yourself. You have understood things about your story, your wounds, your patterns, the way you function.

And yet, you feel that something is beyond you, that certain patterns repeat themselves although you feel you have already understood them.

You may have tried psychotherapy, hypnosis, meditation, yoga or various therapeutic and spiritual approaches.

Or perhaps you arrived here through your body: chronic pain, recurring tension, persistent fatigue, despite physiotherapy.

You have moved forward. You have understood. You have tried. And yet, something remains.

Perhaps the path now goes through the body. In this therapy, the body is considered a living memory!

Somatic therapy — the body as a living memory

What is somatic therapy?

Our way of thinking, our emotions and our history do not live only in our mind.

They are also inscribed in our body, in our breathing, our tensions, our posture and our way of reacting.

Conversely, physical pain or tension does not always tell a purely mechanical story. It can also be linked to how our system adapted to what we have lived through.

Somatic therapy thus considers the body as a living memory.

Through touch, perception, breathing, movement or systemic work, we go towards what is present in the body.

The aim is to regain a state of inner coherence, in which body, emotions and consciousness can function together again.

Somatic therapy session with Nathalie Varlet — movement and perception

One approach, several doorways

Everyone arrives with a different story.

For some, the doorway will be chronic pain or physical tension.

For others, a state of stress, anxiety, fatigue or mental overload. For others still, an emotional or relational pattern that keeps repeating.

The session therefore does not follow a predefined protocol. I use different tools depending on what arises and what your system needs in the moment.

The tools I use

Systemic constellation — Systemic work helps release unconscious dynamics, transgenerational, family or relational memories that may still be acting.

Fasciatherapy — Through touch, listening to the tissues and body work, we go towards the tensions, blockages and memories inscribed there.

Body practice — Through breathing, movement and body exploration, you progressively learn to listen to and recognise the information coming from your body.

The goal is to develop this capacity yourself, so that your body becomes a reference in daily life and you gain autonomy.

How does a session work?

1. Time of exchange — We start with a conversation about what brings you: a pain, an emotional state, a repeating situation or something you have carried for a long time.

2. Somatic work — From what is present, we go through the body. Depending on what emerges, I use fasciatherapy, bodywork, systemic work, breathing, perception or movement.

It is not necessarily about making a symptom disappear, but about finding coherence in what is manifesting.

3. Integration & autonomy — Over the course of the work, you develop a finer perception of what is happening within you and learn to use your body as a reference. The goal is for this listening to progressively support you beyond the sessions, in your daily life.

Somatic therapy support — touch and listening to the tissues

This support may suit you if:

You feel it in your body: chronic pain or tension, persistent fatigue, feeling disconnected from your body.

You are in survival mode: stress, anxiety, mental load, difficulty slowing down, emotions that are hard to welcome.

Some patterns keep repeating: difficulty setting boundaries, lack of self-confidence, a tendency to forget yourself for others, relational difficulties that return despite what you have already understood.

You are going through a period of transition: separation or grief, career change, loss of meaning, a former way of living that no longer suits you.

You may be wondering…

Would I need to talk about my whole past? No. We do not start from the story of the past. We start from what is alive in the present moment.

What manifests in the body today already contains the essential of the pattern to be met. This is not an approach through mental analysis: the work is done from the body and sensitive movement to bring to light the unconscious patterns active here and now.

I came looking for a solution to my physical problems. I found a space of inner listening. I had not realised how much I was in survival mode. It completely changes your life.
